Summy ji

Regarding your comment "Why haven`t you told you parents? Surely if the fact that sikhism and homosexuality should not be a problem, shouldnt this be conveyed to your family? You come across as a person content with the cross section between your lifestyle and sikhi, so why not convey this to your family..."
I am sure you would know that punjabi`s are a bit conservative talking about delicate issues like this. I could tell them anytime but it`s always hard to tell things like this to your near and dear ones who have their own expectations of you, than to complete strangers. I`m pretty sure that I will let them know and by Nanak`s grace they will accept me.
Plus Summy ji, in all your messages, you are trying to convey that sikhism is against homosexuality. This does not agree with Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Maharaj who said, "maanas kee jaat sabhai aykai pehchaanbo". Are gay people not members of "maanas kee jaat"? They are members of the human race.
Secondly, Dhan Bhagat Kabeer ji says, "Ayk noor thay sabh jag upjiaa kaun bhaallay, ko mandhay" - i.e. Who are we to judge the level of somebody`s manmat with regard to their way of life?
Summy ji, it is generally agreed that being Homosexual is not just "lust", "Kaam", or their choice in anyway.
Homosexuality is generally believed (by scientists) that it is genetic, and approximately 10% of people on this planet are, genetically, homosexuals.
They are created by Vaheguru as are all his children. They are the way they are according to the Hukam of Vaheguru.
As for same-sex viah, If someone wants to have a Anand Karj between two men, or two women - then as Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib ji said, "We might not agree with you, but we will DIE for your right to believe in it".
If two men WANT to go ahead and have a viah, who are WE to stop them. It`s their marji, actually it`s not their marji - It was essentially Vaheguru`s Hukam that they born that way and deserve the happiness of a loving, supportive relationship no less than heterosexual couples.
The Guru ji were not stupid; they knew all these issues would arise. If he (Guru ji),  condemned abortion, homosexuality, etc TOTALLY, they would have written it. If they could condemn female infanticide (which has now been replaced by abortion of girl feotuses), he could have condemned abortion generally, but they did not. They knew that some issues need to stay grey, for sikhs to make up their own mind.
Guru ji left many things open for sangat jee to discuss and make our own decisions based from our true heart-felt conscience - and allowed them to stay grey. Guru ji were not stupid, they knew it would arise. I know most of this has been said before & the only thing that can be added is Guru Ji`s Bani. Guru Ji didn`t write about homosexuality, probably intentionally allowing it to stay grey.
