I know its good to see beyond the bow of your culture/religion than simply seeming like a discriminator.
Especially living in a western world where freedom of choice is the most importance aspect of life.
I`d ask the parents who say don`t marry outside of your religion, "why not?". What makes a parent right? They gave you life? So if they beat you up, whip you, is that alright too? Afterall, they gave birth to you.
If they came to a western world knowing what to expect and then immerse their children into a mixed culture, what do you expect? Children to be contained and never exploring different ideas? Theres no bloody point coming to the west then is there? You can`t have your cake and eat it too.
If you want a better life for your children and love them, then love them unconditionally, based in fact that you raised them well enough to know they will choose the right person for themselves.
Parents have the right to raise their children, not dictate terms. Otherwise its CONDITIONAL love to say "I`ll be your daddy till you marry a non .
Its not the child thats put the parents in a tight spot, its vice versa.
Its cruel to allow someone to enjoy freedom of whomever they want to befriend but then say that stops when the parents happiness matters more. What happeed to the sons and daughters happiness?
I say this in a western world, you must accept at least the basic principle of living here. Freedom of choice. We can`t control our lives but not being with this and that. In that case we`re just kids for life and never become an adult to make our own choices.
Sacrificing your happiness to satisfy your parents isn`t a viable choice. It shows weakness on both ends. One who can`t stand up and one who can`t stand down. Whatever happened to compromise? Understanding? Unconditional parental love?
I encourage people to find relationships wherever its not physically harmful (ie abusers, pervs, addicts etc).
If you`re an adult, then act like one. Else get married at 14 and get used to not mixing with other cultures. At least you spare your self anguish and unhappiness when you fall for someone who isn`t part of your religion/culture.
