jatinder, as you started the post i feel it would only be decent of me to give my opinions on it:

i feel that islam has in a way evolved into being synonomous with violence and death, when we must have all seen pictures of palestinians suicide bombers in their "farewell" videos holding a gun in one hand and the Holy Quran in the other it sends a very negative but important image to the world.  it shows how the bomber feels that he/she is doing a righteous thing by holding the book in one hand and the mission to kill people will be sanctified by god.

this is the image in my opinion that i feel people have of islam, a blood thirsty religion.  being muslim it saddens me to see that a very tiny minority of muslims have all the media attention for all the wrong reasons yet the huge majority of muslims who dont do anything apart from live their lives in a normal way have to pay the price for extremists.
