You seem to have a noble thought process which I commend you for. However, I feel like the you a contridicting yourself just a little bit, and it lies around this point...

Why haven`t you told you parents? Surely if the fact that sikhism and homosexuality should not be a problem, shouldnt this be conveyed to your family? You come across as a person content with the cross section between your lifestyle and sikhi, so why not convey this to your family...
