Rajasthanis wear turbans (have been wearing it longgg before Sikhi existed)
All rajputs and other kings used to wear turbans. Hindus wear turban in their weddings.
Middle eastern people do cover their head because the sun gets extremely hot and can burn your retina and face (esp in the desert). A turban provides cover to the head and protection to the eyes from direct sunlight.
I understand that ignorant people cannot see the difference between people, cultures and headwear.

I do have another question though. What does Kaffur mean? I think someone mentioned that word in the previous posts.
