I thought i never would but i do miss ol england, from the local pub to asian grocery store around the corner..........the smell off turka walking down the road.......over here you would be lucky to see an apna walking down the street (specially were i live).
The pros about america that i have noticed are: Cheaper living cost, Housing market is cheaper than england, job prospects, health service (compared to NHS) and the standard of living.
Cons would be.........The people here are stuck in a bubble off just America (not all but few that i have met), Racism, ignorant people not knowing you can be brown and still be British, Crime.
There are mostly south indians living here and i dont realy associate with them and most of them are first or second generation as in england our family has been there since the late 50`s and we appreciate both cultures.
I have studied in India for a couple of years and i know what you mean about mitti and the land off your forefathers, i would never loose touch with were we came from. Living in england i had the same thought of being stuck in the middle of two worlds but since being here i am not sure but i have a closer attachement to england than india. I have british friends that have moved back to england from the US, and are considering moving back to the US. Well good luck to England tomorrow against Trinidad and Tobego, i will be at the Irish Pub in Downtown with fellow brits watching the game.
