Every Kaum has to deal with issues like this. Sikhs are not alone in the realm of genocide...Muslims, Hindus, Jews, Latin Americans, Africans....everyone has experienced this. I respect your beliefs and am glad that you have pride over what the Sikh kaum has done for India, I am too. But please do not think so much of the past. For as many times Punjabi Veera saved Hindu and Sikh women from Mughals, Sikh armies can also be seen as traitors to the revolution when they did Gorey ki Gulami during the Mutiny of 1857. But that is the past, and I try not to paint an entire community one color by the actions of a few misguided leaders. Many of us are ashamed by what happened in 1984, but the attempts to rectify the situation in punjab (Gandhi Longowal Accords) were responded to with assasinations and even more violence. It was a really violent situation back then on part of both Sikhs and Hindus. We cannot change the past but we can worry about not letting the past repeat itself. Our Kauma should all do the best they can to prevent violence from erupting. because one human life is so important and at the end of the day no one wants to become a Shaheed...
