Bhai-Saab - The British were the masters of divide and counquer.  The Sikhs helped the British put down the rebellion in 1857 because the same Bengali/other Hindu soldiers had helped the British conquer the Sikh kingdom just 10 years earlier.  To the Sikhs, it was a way to get revenge on the people that defeated them.  How come no one brings up the fact that Hindu(mainly Bengali) soldiers fought for the British(Goryia de gulami) against the Sikh kingdom?

The revolt of 1857 is being celebrated in India this year but no one celebrated the anniversary of the Sikhs fighting the British, they were the last Indians to hold out against the British.

The attempts to rectify the 1984 situation will never succeed until the culprits for the massacre are held responsible...they hasn`t happened for 23 years and recently one of the main accused was cleared of all charges.  No one was ever held responsible for killing over 3,000 Sikhs...that is unbelieveable.

I am no Hindu hater, I have many Hindu friends but I`m a realist and I know my history.

We cannot forget the past, we must learn from it.  As the famous saying goes "If we forget history, we are bound to repeat it."
