Horrible idea, and probably is leading to the end of sikhi.

This movement has nothing to do with sikhi. Basically, in this element it is anti sikhi. In sikhi we have no alligence to any land, or any physical properties. It is ignorant to think otherwise. Secondly, the way about people think we are to get khalistan is anti sikhi. Killing, eye for eye, terrorist training from Al- Aqeda, these are the things that breaks my heart when I realize Sikhi is involved with. Suicide bombings? Are you serious.

History: Sikhi has its origins in India and punjab, and im not willing just to leave it. The history is too much. too many people have died, too many people have given up their lives just for some egotistical people to have some sort of land. Millions upon millions in the history of sikhi have given their lives to be called indian, and to throw that away because 20 some years ago, some people got an idea based in political gains for money is disgusting. Id rather fix idea that kill my mother land.

Culture: the funny thing is people think in khalistan that they will still have "punjabi" culture. If the people who want khalistan actually get their way, punjabi culture will cease to exist. its the end of punjabi culture. Bhangra, amongst so many other things practiced will be outlawed, and therefore, those kids in the west who its an ego issue and go on youtube to get their info and havent even taken amrit but want to live in a land tat would follow rules "apprently" to the bone, it halirious in my opinion.

Within Sikhi: There is already a HUGe divide in sikhi. We dont even like each other, what makes people think we can get along in a country, we cant even run our religion. Death threats against the akal tahkt, sikhs claiming they will bomb it. Sikhs (mainstream) hate nirankaris, nihangs, all types of `other` sikhs. Sikhi is in a crisis and khalistan takes the focus away from simran and these young kids cant even read the guru granth sahib ji, but want khalistan, its a disgrace.

It cant work on the reasons that politically, socially and economically. Khalistani supporters want Punjab, UP and Haryana. Thats means they want to kick hindus out of that area. First off thats against UN regulations, and in response, Chauhan has said that he is willing to fight them too. Secondly, you isolate the community and your economy suffers. Majority of sikh dont support khalistan, where does that leave the people outside the land?

There are SO many reasons:

Look at all religious ran states: pakistan, iraq, iran, israel, palestine, saudi etc..

THey are all plagued by death, civil war, apartheid, terrorism within and without, its ridicolous that people actually think that a religious ran state that creates homogenius points of view can suceed in a world of nucleur powers and war capabilities.

Khalistan would have no army. Guns, would be it. Currently they are being sponosred by pakistani militants same ones sponorsing kashmir militants. They coule be invaded in days by many countries. Its not like 47`, the majority wont follow, the majority will stay in India, khalistan is dead.

 

Kids in the west support it because they have egos and they think its gangster, yet none of them want to leave their cozy houses and fight on the front lines. 90% of them arent even real sikhs, and drink and dont take amrit

 

I could go on days about why its horrible, there is a reason why people hate in it punjab and you could get thtreatened with your life if you bring it up.

having said that India is not perfect, and we must fix it, but its getting better
