Re: Re: Re: Meat is not Forbidden In Sik

rather than copying some webpages and making 4 posts like Randip has:

here`s 2 simple links, they`ve persuaded me that meat is not allowed in Sikhism and have falsified the claims that meat-supporters often use:

http://www.info-sikh.com/PageM1.html
http://www.info-sikh.com/PageM2.html

Randip try to read it all, you`ll be astounded.

Dear Grenade Singh, you will be astounded to learn that the essay is the collective work of me and several other SIKH scholars from www.sikh-history.com.

The essay was written in direct responce to the diatribe that has been posted by sites like info-sikh (or mis-info-sikh), by people who have no or little knowledge of sikh history. The claims of info-sikh have been proved wrong without a doubt. A debate took place recently between Bandha Singh (author of info-sikh) and myself. Bandha lost and was forced to beat a hasty retreat.

In Sikhism, meat eating is a personal choice. My own family contains Amritdhari`s who eat meat and other`s that do not. They are not at each other`s throats trying to make each other give up or eat meat. Info-Sikh is run by illiterate people, who have used quotations out of context and have posted wrong meanings of Shabads. Even the quote from Dabistan-i-Mazhib is doctored on info-sikh. Here is an example:

Mohsin Fani (1615-70), the well known historian and a contemporary of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib, rites in his work DABISTAN-E-MAZAHIB as follows:

"Having prohibited his disciples to drink wine and eat pork, he (Nanak) himself abstained from eating flesh and ordered not to hurt any living being. After him this precept was neglected by his followers; but Arjun Mal, one of the substitutes of his Faith, renewed the prohibition to eat flesh and said: This has not been approved by Nanak."

The correct description and date for this article is Dabistan-I Mazahib 1645-46. Also the entire quote from the essay reads:

Many person became his disciples. Nanak believed in the Oneness of God and in the way that it is asserted in Muhammadan theology. He also believed in transmigration of souls. Holding wine and pork to be unlawful, he had [himself] abandoned eating meat. He decreed avoidance of causing harm to animals. It was after his time that meat-eating spread amongst his followers. Arjan Mal, who was on of his lineal succesors, found this to be evil. He prohibited people from eating meat, saying This is not in accordance with Nanaks wishes. Later, Hargobind, son of Arjan Mal, ate meat and took to hunting. Most of their [the Gurus] followers adopted his practice.

Now this is but one example of the lies on info-sikh. How many more are there? You can clearly see 1 the dates are wrong, 2 the the translation is questionable, and 3 the last part of the translation has been removed by Mr mis-info-sikh.

What I suggest to you is to read the essay and not believe the copy and paste merchants of info-sikh. They are basically Hindu-Vaishnav`s who are fooling Sikh`s to follow Brahministic belief.

Best Wishes
