Re: Re: Re: Bhagat Singh--the real inspi Sukhvinder, You as well seem intelligent, and nice which is a nice change from what else is on POL. Let us look at the history of sikhi for one minute veeray. Prior to Bhindranwale and Khalsitans movement of ego and pride, when were sikhs every the sepratist, blood thirsty, and violent people as we saw during his reign, and the following groups from his thought. When I study sikh history, I am almost moved to tears to hear the things that our gurus, other sikhi figures have done for humanity. For example,Baba Kabir ji, an amazing figure in sikhi, and punjabi history. A story goes that, two men fought over land of which they wished to build a mandir and the other wished to build a mosque. Kabir explained to them, the land is a metaphor for your ego, you are not fighting for land, as land is vast throughout India, you are fighting for the pride that exists within your hearts. Long story short, through realizing the COMMONALITY OF HUMANITY rather than our simple bickering, the mandir and mosque still to this day stay, rather untouched. This is sikhi. SO MANY STORIES LIKE THIS, like when guru nanak dev ji when to the rich mans house who used to steal from people, and how he changed his life. When Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji said, he will die for the preservance of good rather that the pitfalls of pride and attachment. This is sikhi. Then people come to me and try to say that Bhindranwale was amongst these men in sikhi history. I get so upset, and even more so HURT, that people could think like this. You tell me, you realize that the indian government wanted Bhindranwale, why the heck, would he take a gun into harimandir sahib? Days before they came, even with the media and general population leaving, why the heck did he stay there, knowing it is the holy place of our dharam. I WILL NEVER FORGIVE HIM FOR THIS, as should no Indian person every forgive Indra Gandhi and her ugly ways. She deserved her death, as did Bhindranwale, they both attempted to draw lines in a society. I dont understand your comment on the end of sikh thought in punjab.. please clarify. The end of sikh thought will come on the increased importance of some fake lines drawn on a map, a map that us sikhs, HAVE NO ALLIGENCE TO. Our only alligence is to our dharam.. You think that we will benefit from lines on a peice of paper? We cant people who do seva for guru ji to get along... WE MUST FOCUS OUR IMPORTANCE ON THE BETTERMENT OF SIKHI, THEN THE BETTERMENT OF OUR MOTHERLAND, THen can we want a seperate line on some map. I dont know if Jagish Tyler is hindu or christian, nor does it matter. If we take away the words of a hindu a sikh, a muslim, all we have are people who are people. Indians, people subject to their environment. Enjoy humanity brothers, dont fight against it.
Guru Nanak Dev Ji said in the age of Kalyug, the dividers will be hailed, and humanity will fail to prosper in the hearts of the population. We are in the age of Kalyug.
I would never consider Jarnail singh bhindranwale a matyr, nor an important sikh figure. When I think of important sikh figures, I see guru nanak dev ji giving me blessings, or I see Bhagat Singh in the jail, wasting away writing about humanity and the importance of it. I dont imagine Bhindranwale holding a rifle, with rounds of bullets around his body. Take care, Summinder Singh Discussion Thread
