Not only has this team been invited to represent Canada at various performances and competitions, it has also had the pleasure to perform at prestigious events such as the Canadian-Asian Heritage Awards, University Culture shows, Charity fundraisers, and Fashion Shows, but it has also been invited to compete at various competitions in North America, such as Bruin Bhangra, and most recently Zee T.V`s World Bhangra Competition in Washington, D.C., where these talented girls took second place, absolutely wowing the crowd. The UBC Girls are well known for their amazing stunts, enthusiasm, creativity, originality and competitive edge which keeps the audiences wanting more.

This hardworking group of girls are well educated University students, some who are aspiring lawyers, teachers, pharmacists, business women, dentists and psychologists. The one thing that stands out the most about these girls is that when they dance, they dance with heart and for the love of the art of Bhangra. Most of the team members have well over 10 years of dance experience both in Bhangra and other dance forms, and while some own their own dance school, others have taken part in various music videos and Hindi film song sequences, while others are dance choreographers, and still others who are competitive martial artists and athletes. This team works as a unit, a whole, and their team work and dedication, along with the strong desire to entertain and please their audiences through electrifying, feet stomping Bhangra shows loud and clear when these girls take the stage. The members of this astounding team are very proud of their Asian heritage, roots and culture, and one way to keep their `roots` alive and express their love for the culture that has bred them is to dance to the beats and rhythm of Bhangra.
